Product Description
Gas shock fits most Correct Craft glove boxes, coolers, or other storage compartments that take the short gas shocks. About 8 1/8'' over all length. 7- 1/2'' from center to center of connection point. 2.3'' stroke.
Factory original is 20 LB and is the #1 seller typically used on the glove box.
However, we also offer a heaver 30 LB lift if folks have had the need for a stronger lift spring. Some customers expressed a desire for a stronger lift, and we have that as an option.
There are compartments which took this same length shock and the 30LB works better.
INSTALL NOTE: shocks have an up and down. The cylinder has oil in it, the rod should be placed so the rod is 'down', and the cylinder end is UP. This will allow the oil to help keep the seal moist and prevent the gas from escaping.
Failure to install in the correct orientation will greatly shorten the life of the shock.
