Steering Cable alt to S1529 1982-1990 Boats

Product Description

Cable to use in replacing the old S1529 17.5 with odd throw tiller arm. Works With Teleflex Rotary Helms includes adapter for older threaded connection.

Note if you are swapping cables from the S1529 cable you'll need to replace the steering support tube, and move the clamping block and consider changing the tiller arm.  Link to Support Tube.  Link to Tiller Arm

You'll also confirm the position of the support tube to make sure your port/stbd steering is equal (clamping block being about center of the tube typically)

The standard style support tube is about 2'' shorter than the original, you thus have the option of cutting your tube down, or replacing with the new shorter tube. 

The support /clamping block needs to move aft about 3-4 depending on what clearances your boat offers. Our Ski Nautique we moved it 4'' and everything worked out great.
